If your Zappi is over 3 years old, the manufacturer's warranty has likely expired. If a component fails, their standard advice is often to purchase and install a brand-new unit costing over £600.
We offer a faster, eco-friendly alternative. By sending just the faulty circuit board to our bench, we can repair the specific component defect, saving you hundreds of pounds and getting your EVSE back online quickly.
Specialising in the repair and service of out-of-warranty EV charging hardware, WSMFix is happy to help get your Myenergi Zappi working again. I regularly fix these circuit boards via mail-in or local drop-off near Marine Lake in Weston-super-Mare. I can often offer a same-day turnaround to get you back on the road quickly. This service is cheaper than Myenergi's call-out fee and they will only tell you that you need to buy a replacement PCB.
Is your home charging unit experiencing any of the following issues?
These symptoms are some of the most common hardware faults on the Zappi and are related to the system that allows the car to draw power for charging. The reasons include faulty relays / contactors or the system that checks that the charger is passing current to the car. It often happens due to wear on the components that work the hardest during charging cycles and heat build up resulting from high current flows. The repair is to replace components, check the feedback system, and deal with any circuit board tracks that are degraded by heat.
The repair concludes with a full test in charging states A,B,C and checking the integrity of the Control Pilot signals.
EV Charger board repair - No Fix, No Fee. Book in via my contact system, send me the PCB and only pay when it is fixed.
The Zappi is a robust charger, but like all power electronics, it has common failure points that I can address at the component level. Take a look below for the most common symptoms.
The unit appears completely "dead" with no screen or lights showing on the front. This is usually caused by a failure in the internal power supply section of the PCB. I can rebuild this section to restore power to the logic board without needing to replace the entire unit.
I frequently see boards where the power connectors or current sensors have been ripped off the board, often due to tension during installation or accidental damage. These can be professionally resoldered or replaced to restore a solid, safe electrical connection.
If your car detects the cable but won't start the charging process, it often points to a fault in the Pilot signal circuit. I use a custom-built test rig to simulate a vehicle connection and verify the signal is correct before sending the board back.
I have streamlined the mail-in process to be as quick and easy as possible:

I have nearly 40 years of experience in electronics and electrical engineering. When not working on domestic items, I work in the entertainment industry maintaining and repairing specialist lighting and sound equipment for concerts and other shows. I specialise in fixing things at component level, meaning diagnosis and replacement of individual faulty parts on a printed circuit board (PCB). Often working without schematics, I trace faults using a range of diagnostic techniques and use soldering and rework methods to replace all kinds of electronic components.
My main goal is to promote a repair and re-use culture and give people the opportunity to have their electronic and electrical items repaired rather than having to throw good things away. Because of this, I also volunteer as a repairer at a local Repair Cafe in Weston-Super-Mare.
I don't provide a call-out service or work on large domestic items, but you can drop your circuit board or device to me in central Weston-Super-Mare, BS23. I am currently not taking Home Entertainment at the moment due my workload on other repair types. UK Mail-in service available on certain repairs - contact me!.
